Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

COPE-aligned publication ethics framework for Indian Journal of Contemporary Legal and Social Issues.

IJCLSI's ethics framework follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authorship and contributorship

Authorship is limited to persons who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the conception, research, analysis or drafting of the work, and who approve the final version and accept accountability for it (consistent with ICMJE criteria). Honorary, gift and ghost authorship are prohibited.

Complaints and appeals

Complaints may be sent to editor@ijclsi.com marked Complaint. The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges within 7 days and responds substantively within 30 days.

Conflicts of interest

Authors must disclose all financial and non-financial interests. Reviewers and editors must declare conflicts and recuse themselves where a conflict exists.

Data sharing and reproducibility

Authors must cite primary legal materials with sufficient precision. Empirical work should include a Data Availability Statement.

Ethical oversight

Research involving human participants or sensitive personal data must comply with applicable law and institutional ethics requirements.

Intellectual property

Authors retain copyright. Articles are published under CC BY 4.0. See the Open Access & Copyright page for full terms.

Corrections and retractions

Honest errors are remedied by Correction notices. Serious errors, plagiarism, or misconduct result in retraction following COPE Retraction Guidelines.

Research misconduct

Every submission is screened for plagiarism. Manuscripts exceeding 15% similarity (excluding quotations, legal provisions and references), or showing unattributed copying, are rejected. Allegations of misconduct are investigated following COPE flowcharts.
